Visit Kyle, the Pie Capital of Texas

Visit the Pie Capital of Texas

This brand is part of our overall tourism program to encourage visitors to come to Kyle.

You can also visit our Tour Texas page.

On June 8, 2021, Governor Greg Abbott signed SCR 22, officially designating the City of Kyle as the Pie Capital of Texas. State Sen. Donna Campbell and State Rep. Erin Zwiener, whose districts cover Kyle, brought forward the resolution in the 87th Texas Legislative Session in recognition of the City of Kyle’s commitment to, and reverence for all things pi(e).

In Kyle, pie is celebrated in all kinds of ways — including on the plate, in City programs, and in the sky! Each Labor Day weekend, dozens of beautiful hot air balloons ascend over Kyle for the annual Pie in the Sky Hot Air Balloon Festival. The festival features live music, pie eating and baking contests, pie throwing, tethered hot air balloon rides, market vendors, a kids play area and fireworks. For more information on the 2021 festival, visit the Pie in the Sky Festival website.

But Kyle has more to offer than just one event! Visit the State Designated Pie Capital of Texas and explore our history, enjoy the food (including pie!), catch some live music, go fishing and have a picnic at Lake Kyle, play disc golf, or just relax in the Pie Capital Texas.
