KYLE, TEXAS –– The City of Kyle invites community members to view and comment on our Draft Citizen Participation Plan for the Community Development Block Draft (CDBG) from now until Friday, July 14, 2023.

The City of Kyle is eligible to receive funding annually from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the CDBG and the HOME Investment Partnership Program once the city is officially designated as an Entitlement City through this process.

Through the entitlement process, the City of Kyle is required to develop and submit a Consolidated Plan identifying the housing and non-housing funding priorities of the community and the specific activities to be carried out with CDBG, and HOME funds to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. As the Consolidated Plan is developed, the City of Kyle must consult with local citizens, community service organizations, and others as applicable in assessing needs and determining the best use of program funds.

The amount of each CDBG, and HOME entitlement is determined by statutory formula. Within the statutory constraints of each of the HUD programs, the City of Kyle is able to develop its own programs and funding priorities. A copy of the Draft Citizen Participation Plan is available in English & Spanish at Kyle City Hall, 100 W. Center Street, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm or at www.cityofkyle.com/planning/community-development-block-grant

Comments must be submitted before 5 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, in writing to Kaela Sharp, 100 W. Center Street, Kyle, Texas 78640, or via email to Kaela Sharp at CDBG@cityofkyle.com
