KYLE, TEXAS – The Kyle Parks and Recreation Department has lined up a series of events for the community to enjoy this Holiday season.  

“Safety is of course the most important goal this year, so the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department has worked to find ways to celebrate this holiday season safely,” Parks and Recreation Director Mariana Espinoza said.  

City Square Holiday Lights 

Starting Wednesday, Dec. 2 and continuing through Sunday, Jan. 3, holiday lights will be on nightly from 6 p.m. - 7 a.m. on the Kyle City Square. The community is invited to come enjoy the light display, but all are asked to continue practicing social distancing. 

Santa Visits Kyle 

Children will have the opportunity to wave and see Santa as he rides through the City of Kyle visiting designated neighborhoods this December. Santa will not be exiting the vehicle at any point, but the Parks and Recreation Department will have elves following along to receive any letters to Santa from children.

“COVID-19 has made many things difficult this year, but with safe and thoughtful programming we can still enjoy many of the things we love most about the Holiday Season like seeing kids' faces when they see Santa and tell him what they want or taking a walk to see all the lights strung up,” Mayor Travis Mitchell said. 

All Holiday event participants are asked to practice State and Local Orders regarding social distancing and using face coverings when out in public or interacting with those outside of their household.

UPDATE: This Media Advisory was updated to say the City Square Holiday Lights will be on nightly beginning Wednesday, Dec. 2 and the Southlake Ranch Subdivision was added to the Santa Visit locations on Dec. 5.
