The mission of the Kyle Public Library is to serve the community as a resource for informational, educational, recreational, and cultural enrichment by providing convenient access to books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, technology, information services, and quality programming.  These services are provided for patrons of all ages and backgrounds to support literacy and knowledge.

 

Adventure Begins at Your Library: The Summer Reading Program

The 2024 Summer Reading Program, titled Adventure Begins at Your Library begins on June 3rd and ends on July 20th.

Getting Started

Log Reader Minutes Online:

Step 1: Download the Reader Zone app at readerzone.com

Step 2: Create your account and add your readers.

Step 3: Use our summer reading program code 03d9c to begin logging the minutes each reader has read (or is read to).

-OR-

Visit the library circulation desk to pick up a paper reading log and physically record your reading by 15-minute intervals.

 

Prize Milestones

 

Children (age 11 and younger) can pick up prizes in-person when they achieve the 2, 4, 6, 8, & 10 hour milestones.

Teenagers and adults (age 12 and older) can pick up prizes in-person when they achieve the 5 & 10 hour milestones.

The goal of the summer reading program is to read or be read to for 10 hours in total between June 3rd and July 20th.

The last day to log reader minutes is July 20th.

The last day to pick up reading prizes is August 3rd.

Access the library’s digital collection of eBooks, downloadable audiobooks, and magazines through Libby..  Learn how to use Libby.

 

Sign Up for a Library Card

If you don't already have a library card, stop by the library to fill out a library card application. Bring your photo ID and verification of state residency to get your new library card. Any library card holder will be able to access the libraries extensive physical and digital collections, resources, programs and more!

If you had an online-only account in the past, you will need to come into the library to renew your account. A library card application will need to be filled out, along with verification of photo ID and state residency.

Public Computer Use:

  • Available unlimited use for Library Card Holders
  • Available 30 minute sessions for Non-Card Holders

Printing:

  • Color - .65 per side
  • Black and White - .15 per side

Faxing:

  • 1 - 5 pages - $2.50
  • 6 - 10 pages - additional $2.50
  • $2.50 additional for additional pages increments of 5

PLEASE NOTE: $2.50 additional fee will be charged for credit/debit purchases.

Scanning:

  • Color - Free
  • Black and White - Free
