City of Kyle Announces New Director of Communications

Samantha Armbruster

Samantha Armbruster is Kyle’s new Director of Communications. After months of searching, Armbruster was selected from applicants to serve in the newly formed role. This position will enhance and promote community engagement and communication efforts.

Armbruster previously served as the Main Street Program Manager and later Neighborhood Engagement Manager for the City of San Marcos, directing and managing downtown development and neighborhood engagement initiatives. While in San Marcos, Armbruster successfully implemented several marketing campaigns driving event attendance and positive exposure for the City earning many local, regional and national accolades.

“Kyle is perfectly positioned in location and possesses the character to be the most Innovative City in the Innovation Corridor of Texas,” said Armbruster. “I’m grateful to have this opportunity and to be on the team leading efforts that will work with both long-term and new residents to build a City that the state and the world can be proud of. Community has always been my passion and I can’t wait to work alongside the residents of Kyle.”

As Director, Armbruster will work with local groups, city departments, and elected officials to develop and implement a comprehensive Communication's Policy designed to educate and inform Kyle residents about city services and programs. Reporting directly to the city manager, Samantha will have responsibility for developing and leading an effective, efficient and innovative communications team.

“Samantha is a great fit to lead our communications department through a time of remarkable growth and innovation. She has a proven record of success and characteristics that align with our core values and commitment to being a leading-edge organization,” City Manager Scott Sellers said. “We’re so excited to have Samantha join Team Kyle.”

Armbruster has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of West Florida. She was named a Shining Star under 40 by the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, received the President’s Award by Lions Club International, and is a regular speaker on social media and engagement at civic groups and professional associations. Her first day at the City was February 10.
