Kyle Police Using Technology
to Reach Out to Citizens

The Kyle Police Department has joined the social networking age to alert Kyle residents and drivers about public safety related issues, missing or lost children, and/or traffic problems as a means to

provide enhanced citizen services and supplement its ongoing partnership effort with the community.

Residents and those driving to and from Kyle can sign up at www.nixle.com for e-mail alerts, text messages or both. While participation in the program is free and e-mail alerts are of no cost, citizens should check with their cell phone carrier regarding any messaging rates that may apply.

Nixle is a community information service that operates similar to Twitter, and is offered at no-charge to law enforcement, government agencies and the public. The service provides for the instantaneous messages to be sent out to anyone who signs up – or “follows” – the sender.

Click here for more information on how the Kyle Police department will use Nixle to help you stay informed.
